- I beg you to organize your thoughts before you put your fingers on the keyboard. Your important information and viewpoints are easily lost when your comment rambles on so long that the reader cannot follow your thought process.
- After you finish writing, please read your comment through once to make certain what you've said is clear. I know- this isn't English class, but there is one post writer and many readers who write comments. The writer will respond quickest to messages s/he immediately understands.
- Criticise in a civil manner. I am often appalled by the vitriol, profanity, and personal attacks I see, particularly on YouTube. I send such writers love and light, knowing they may not be ascending with the rest of us anytime soon!
- Address the subject matter of the post at least peripherally! Spam filters sometimes kick out things that are way out in left field.
- Lastly, please limit the number of links you include in the comment and make certain the links actually work.
The suggestions above will help us get the most out of our communication. In writing comments myself, I have found that "comment mechanics" can be extremely unfriendly. Writing a comment over and over that will not "submit" is frustrating in the extreme. If you take the time to write me a comment but never see it posted, email me to let me know.
All sites and hosts have so-called comment policies to manage abuses for the protection of everyone. The Internet is full of mischievous people, some of whom are paid to assault certain sites. We do the best we can to sift the "wheat from the chaff".
